Six String SILKS - Phosphor Bronze & Silk
The exciting new SILKS sets mark a departure from orthodox acoustic string design. Formulated for the electric guitarist who doubles on acoustic, this set features a never before possible "playing ease" tension married with the warmth and projection for which our acoustic strings are famous. Our triple annealed mild steel is pulled through a draw plate to make an extra skinny core. Onto this is wound a silk multifilament which cushions a phospor bronze winding. This is NOT a silk and steel set. The natural edginess of the phosphor bronze winding is tempered by the silk cushion to produce a tone that studio players everywhere are likening to our 80/20 bronze sets after they have been played in. Steve Sheehan, lead guitarist with the Judds, asked us to make this set.

Patented Fine Wood ARMRESTS & New JUNIOR Size Armrests!
By placing your arm against the top of the guitar, you lose between 15% and 20% of the power and projection of the top of the guitar! And we really are talking as much about clarity and quality of sound as we are the volume! That wonderful sound when you strum the strings just before you close the case--that is the true sound of the "unimpeded top" of your guitar. The John Pearse® Armrest gives your arm a more comfortable contour while helping to protect the top of the guitar from perspiration. But, most importantly, it allows you to play normally while it lifts your arm clear of the top of the guitar, giving you all the sound your guitar has to give! Don't forget we have these in left handed models too!

Buffalo Horn is hand carved and polished to a fine gloss to make these new John Pearse® Buffalo Horn Picks exquisitely beautiful! An incredibly dense and yet light material, you get the same ease and fast response as you would with tortoise shell but, these are legal. You'll never know what a difference it might make until you try one!They are available in 2 styles:
The SAROD is a thicker pick because it is carved on both sides for thumb and index finger to hold. It is the same sort of carving as on our Ebony or Rosewood Sarod Picks mentioned below. It is also a RIGHT-HANDED pick.
The DIMPLE "feels" like a thinner pick because it is only carved on one side...the "dimple" for the thumb! That also makes it EITHER RIGHT or LEFT-handed! It also works well if you like to play with the "shoulder" of the pick rather than the point!
JOHN PEARSE® SAROD PICKS
Ebony or Rosewood SAROD Pick ................ Sterling 2.00/ US$3.00 each
Traditional musicians in Northern India originally fashioned picks from coconut shell to play the Sarod, a multi-stringed fretless relative of the sitar and the rebab. In later years, the picks have been reduced in size and many players of the modern sarod have abandoned the coconut picks in favor of a new, more compact, pick made from ebony or rosewood. European and American musicians traveling in India in the sizties brought these unique picks back with them and soon guitarists were discovering that they made superb picks for jazz! The tone that they produced was full and rich and immeasurably stronger than that produced by a celluloid, nylon--or even a tortoise-shell pick.
The exciting new SAROD Picks from John Pearse® are handmade for us in India by craftsmen who are expert in the fashioning of exotic woods. One side has a rounded depression for your thumb while the other has a curve just perfect for your index finger to hold the pick snugly and securely. For the moment, they are made for Right Handed Players. Just hold one of the these painstakingly carved picks in your hand and hear for yourself the magic that has been concealed within your guitar.
John Pearse® Vintage™ Thumbpicks

For years John carried his favorite thumbpick wherever he went. It was an old National, with so many miles on it that the logo had worn off completely and the celluloid was yellow and brittle. Everyone who ever tried it declared it was the best pick they ever used. It could take a tired old set of strings and make them sound young again. Since no one was making such a pick anymore, John decided to recreate it using an original cutting die from the 20s. The result is a Vintage Thumbpick. In every way, it is the recreation of a classic; hand formed to wrap around your thumb just right and, unlike modern thermo-plastic thumbpicks, it just won't loosen up from the heat of your hand.
SHUBB STANDARD CAPO
. Since 1980 the Shubb capo has set the standard against which all
others must be measured. It is our first choice at goodacoustics. The patented locking action provides a combination of power, speed, accuracy and ease of use. One smooth flip of the lever locks it securely in place... and removes it just as quickly. And the Shubb capo doesn't create tuning problems. Its soft, resilient rubber is specially designed to work just like a fingertip, so it doesn't bend the strings over the frets. Its closing action is just like your hand, so it doesn't pull the string off center. As a result, no re-tuning is necessary! Available for steel string, classical, 12string.

We've managed to source very fine bridge pin makers who have been supplying luthiers directly. Simply put, these pins are the most consistent and highest quality I have found so far. I use them exclusively for when I need to replace/add pins of any kind. I recommend these to any guitarist. I have fossilised mammoth and walrus ivory pins coming... watch this space!
